Very good. Updated review from may 2023. Have just returned from Europe France and Northern Spain 2300 miles in total This car was a joy to drive. from motorways to very out of the way rural mountain roads this car was superb The built-in sat nav found the most remote hotels and guest houses in the Spanish mountains with no problems.
The engine is a dream, very sporty and completely silent at tick-over, an incredible difference in noise levels compared to my previous diesels. The car is generally very refined, although, compared to my previous Ford Focuses, I found the ride a bit "unsettled" at first, on bad roads.

A few things annoy me a bit though. No power folding mirrors. Puny single reverse light. Only one bag hook in boot. Granted the ride on the 18in alloys can be a bit harsh but thats not really too much of a problem. I find the seat comfier that the Kia Rio i had before and i like the raised driving position.

Real MPG: Hyundai i30 N (2018 on) A real revelation of a hot hatch. Superb handling. Impressive performance. Seriously quick. Really good fun to drive. Undercuts most rivals on price. Traditional handbrake, not an electrical switch. Very low profile tyres cannot absorb poor road surfaces.
The car is reasonably comfortable to drive. Below 30 mph the car's suspension feels every bump and pot hole. There are numerous gadgets inside the vehicle, some I will never use. The "A" pillars restrict the view of traffic at junctions. When stating of quickly from a junction, the power lags for a fraction of a second, which can give the diver
A slab-sided pensioners special. The ride is harsh and jerky with a lot of road noise transmitted. There is more understeer towards the right than on left hand bends and the tracking is set up properly. Dark grey and black, mostly cheap, hard plastics present a dismal interior. Petrol economy is good as is £20 a year road tax but it hasn't
